Laura Evans of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachpoetryk12.com\/\">All Things Poetry<\/a> has kindly compiled a list, which I&#8217;ve reprinted here, but it&#8217;s also posted under the \u201cApril National Poetry Month\u201d button on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachpoetryk12.com\/\">her website<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Let the poetry party commence! Each poem is previously unpublished.<\/p>\n<p><b>New GLBTQ Teen Poetry<\/b> @ <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leewind.org\/\">I&#8217;m Here, I&#8217;m Queer, What the Hell Do I Read?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lee Wind is publishing many new Teen voices during April for National Poetry Month.<\/p>\n<p><b>Poems about Teaching<\/b> @ <a href=\"http:\/\/readingyear.blogspot.com\/\">A Year of Reading<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mary Lee Hahn will post an original poem about teaching and\/or learning each day in April.  She will invite other teachers, librarians, students, learners and poets to send her their original teaching and\/or learning poems (or links to their poem posts) for inclusion.  The more the merrier! <\/p>\n<p>Also at A Year of Reading, Franki will review poetry books and tell about the Poetry Month activities she conducts in the school library throughout April. <\/p>\n<p><b>Poetry Book Giveaway<\/b> @ <a href=\"http:\/\/www.irenelatham.com\/\">Irene Lathan<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Irene Latham is giving away a favorite poetry anthology each Poetry Friday during April 2010. She has instigated a challenge to write a poem a day during April. She invites everybody to join her.<\/p>\n<p><b>Poetry Makers<\/b> @ <a href=\"http:\/\/missrumphiuseffect.blogspot.com\/\">The Miss Rumphius Effect<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tricia Stohr-Hunt interviews 30 children\u2019s poets. She starts off with Mary Ann Hoberman, Children\u2019s Poet Laureate, USA. The list is stellar!<\/p>\n<p><b>Poetry Potluck<\/b> @ <a href=\"http:\/\/jamarattigan.livejournal.com\/376210.html\">Jama Rattigan\u2019s alphabet soup<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jama is posting an original poem and favorite recipe each weekday throughout the month of April by some of the Poetry Friday regulars. <\/p>\n<p><b>Poetry Tag<\/b> @ <a href=\"http:\/\/poetryforchildren.blogspot.com\/\">Sylvia Vardell&#8217;s Poetry for Children<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For National Poetry Month in April, we\u2019re playing &#8220;Poetry Tag&#8221; at PoetryForChildren. Sylvia Vardell will be inviting poets to &#8220;play&#8221; along by offering a poem for readers to enjoy, then &#8220;tag&#8221; a fellow poet who then shares her\/his own poem THAT IS CONNECTED to the previous poem in SOME way\u2014by a theme, word, idea, tone&#8211; and offers a sentence or two explaining that connection. The poets have responded enthusiastically and will be sharing a chain of poems by J. Patrick Lewis, X. J. Kennedy, Rebecca Kai Dotlich, Avis Harley, Lee Bennett Hopkins, Joyce Sidman, and more!<\/p>\n<p><b>Poetry Postcard Project<\/b> @ <a href=\"http:\/\/maclibrary.wordpress.com\/poetry-postcard-project\/\">Jone MacCulloch<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Students write a poem which is placed on a postcard. All of the postcards are decorated.
