I was going to post a couple of reviews, but I guess that&#8217;ll wait until tomorrow!<\/p>\n<p>Firstly, via <a href=\"http:\/\/jkrbooks.typepad.com\/blog\/2009\/09\/books-now-available-silksinger.html\">Jen Robinson<\/a>, Laini Taylor&#8217;s newest Dreamdark novel, <a href=\"http:\/\/writingya.blogspot.com\/2009\/07\/dreamdark-silksinger-rollicking-sequel.html\">Silksinger<\/a>, is scheduled for publication today. Hooray, Laini!<\/p>\n<p>Mitali talks about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mitaliblog.com\/2009\/09\/magic-carpet-books-identity-and.html\">the importance of books mirroring one&#8217;s own experience<\/a> as critical to self-acceptance while growing up, and to increased self-knowledge as an adult. <\/p>\n<p>Have you seen <a href=\"http:\/\/afrogeekmom.blogspot.com\/\">Afrogeek Mom and Dad<\/a>?? Today they post about <a href=\"http:\/\/afrogeekmom.blogspot.com\/2009\/09\/teaching-comics-update.html\">teaching comics in a college class<\/a>. How cool are these guys? (And how much do I want to take that class???) (Thanks to Susan at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chickenspaghetti.typepad.com\/\">Chicken Spaghetti<\/a> for the link!)<\/p>\n<p>Via the <a href=\"http:\/\/journal.neilgaiman.com\/\">Neil-man himself<\/a>, a new <a href=\"http:\/\/entertainment.timesonline.co.uk\/tol\/arts_and_entertainment\/books\/article6817172.ece\">short story contest<\/a>&#8211;alas, only for already-published writers in the UK and Ireland, but get a load of the judging slate!! Nick Hornby? A.S. Byatt? Hanif Kureishi??
