When I got to the front of the line, she was so kind, and I felt like she really saw me, as opposed to just going through the motions of signing book after book after book. I&#8217;ll always remember that. It&#8217;s one of the few book signings I&#8217;ve ever gone to, and I feel so much like I&#8217;ve grown up with her books, grown up with Vicky Austin and Meg Murry and Polly. <\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s to Madeleine L&#8217;Engle, and the ring of endless light she&#8217;s gifted to generations of readers.
