{"id":2547,"date":"2007-04-19T04:04:00","date_gmt":"2007-04-19T04:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/writingya.com\/?p=2547"},"modified":"2018-11-20T05:26:25","modified_gmt":"2018-11-20T05:26:25","slug":"odds-and-ends-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/writingya.com\/?p=2547","title":{"rendered":"Odds And Ends Again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now that the last Tolkien book <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/ap\/20070417\/ap_en_ot\/book_review_tolkien\" target=\"_blank\"> has been completed by Tolkien&#8217;s son<\/a> (oh, horrors and blasphemy!), the Guardian reports that it has actually <a href=\"http:\/\/books.guardian.co.uk\/news\/articles\/0,,2060084,00.html?gusrc=rss&#038;feed=10\" target=\"_blank\">bumped Harry Potter<\/a> from the top seller space at Amazon, which is bizarre when you consider that a.) the newest HP hasn&#8217;t even been released, and isn&#8217;t due for another three months, and b.) Tolkien died in 1973, and this is the first Tolkien book in 30 years. <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recyclethis.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/08\/pencil_shavings250.jpg\" align=\"left\" hspace=\"10\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It is a truly strange world, but I&#8217;m having a good chuckle at the idea of Tolkien gently elbowing Rowling from beyond the grave.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cynthialeitichsmith.blogspot.com\/2007\/04\/author-interview-ysabeau-s-wilce-on.html\" target=\"_blank\">Cynsations<\/a> has posted an intriguing interview with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yswilce.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ysabeau Wilce<\/a> (isn&#8217;t her name just fabulous?) and word is, her book, which is on my TBR list before June, is also fabulously intriguing. The full title of Ms. Wilce&#8217;s recently published novel is <i>Flora Segunda: Being the Magickal Mishaps of a Girl of Spirit, Her Glass-Gazing Sidekick, Two Ominous Butlers (One Blue), a House with Eleven Thousand Rooms, and a Red Dog<\/i>.
