Don&#8217;t miss the discussion, and check out an interview with author <a href=\"http:\/\/teenfiction.suite101.com\/article.cfm\/lorie_ann_grover\" target=\"_blank\">Lorie Ann Grover<\/a>, who talks about not quitting things that are difficult to achieve.<\/p>\n<p>In world&#8217;s smoothest segue yet (heh), the final re-edit of my novel (how many times have I said that?!)  goes apace&#8230; I fear I&#8217;m joining <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chasingray.com\/archives\/2007\/04\/springtime_of_my_discontent.html\" target=\"_blank\">Colleen at Chasing Ray<\/a> in feeling like words are coming out of me like&#8230; glue. And there&#8217;s really no reason. I know what I&#8217;m <i>supposed<\/i> to be doing, and, as I told my editor, the words &#8220;rewrite this scene using action and dialogue&#8221; are pretty clear.<\/p>\n<p>It begs the question of why I&#8217;m not just galloping forward.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps it&#8217;s because I need to retire. To my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sakurah.net\/shop.htm\" target=\"_blank\">cave<\/a> (Via <a href=\"http:\/\/fusenumber8.blogspot.com\/2007\/04\/spelunking-tiny-caves.html#links\" target=\"_blank\">Fuse#8<\/a>). It&#8217;s ridiculous how much I want to&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s poem is just a snippet&#8230; for fun I memorized Robert Frost&#8217;s The Road Not Taken as a freshman, and it has stuck with me, especially whenever I start to feel pinched by the requirements, disappointments and fears of this particular profession, I remember:<br \/>&#8230;<br \/><i>Two roads diverged in a wood, and I<\/i><br \/>I took the one less traveled by,<br \/><i>And that has made all the difference.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s to patiently walking the roads we choose.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Non kid-lit related book news, but, you know, um, Aaargh!
