As of today, 379,707 have already been sent, and for <i>every card sent, Random House Children&#8217;s Books will donate one book to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.firstbook.org\/site\/c.lwKYJ8NVJvF\/b.674095\/k.CC09\/Home.htm\" target=\"_blank\">First Book<\/a><\/i>, giving children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new books. If you&#8217;re from a reading family, you may not remember your first book, since you gummed it along with the other ones. I remember my first Seuss &#8220;I Can Read It Myself&#8221; books &#8211; and I hope to give that joy to someone else.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, everyone wants  to <a href=\"http:\/\/dylanhearsawho.com\/\" com=\"\" target=\"_blank\">party with the Cat<\/a> (Via <a href=\"http:\/\/lisayee.livejournal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lisa Yee<\/a>), even ol&#8217; Bob.<\/p>\n<p>Oh <i>no<\/i>. Speaking of first books&#8230; remember those awful ones that just inserted your name in some generic storyline? <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ustarnovels.com\/index.asp\" target=\"_blank\">They&#8217;re baaaack<\/a>. Okay, not really. But &#8230;still!
