Oh, why don&#8217;t they teach this stuff in school?! Why isn&#8217;t an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tnellen.com\/cybereng\/poetry\/richardcory.html\">irony<\/a> symbol on everyone&#8217;s keyboard?<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, French novelist <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Herv\u00c3\u0083\u00c2\u00a9_Bazin\">Herv\u00e9 Bazin<\/a> came up with quite a few more symbols, including one for <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Image:Pointdecertitude.jpg\">certainty<\/a>, one for <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Image:Pointdacclamation.jpg\">authority,<\/a> and one that looks remarkably Spanish in origin for <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Image:Pointdindignation.jpg\">indignation.<\/a> Now if only we can figure out how to make irony easier to explain&#8230;<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>point d&#8217;acclamation Cool, huh?
