It took awhile, but we made it back!<\/p>\n

Thanks for sticking with us. Since we’ve been team blogging together for a while now – fourteen years – it was way past time to take stock of what we were doing, and why, especially with the proliferation of social media spaces where shorter, punchier, more interactive messages are the norm. Why blog still, when we could just occupy more space on Twitter or Facebook?<\/p>\n

In a word, length<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Breadth.<\/p>\n

Scope.<\/i><\/p>\n

Okay, so that was three words, but that makes my point – we get to dig a little deeper with a blog. We get to think<\/i>, instead of just feeling pressure to react. It’s a tough line to straddle, being both authors and bloggers, so we’ll be making the choice to let our individual work take precedence – in terms of time, posts, and subject matter. That also means we’re not going to take on reviews and interviews in the same way. It is our hope to read more deeply, and to ask deeper questions. Because blogging makes us better thinkers and writers, our goal is to use it to help us to track our understanding of issues in our field, to clarify our opinions, and to support those making the children’s lit writing community stronger.<\/p>\n

So, basically, business as usual.<\/p>\n
