Author: Tanita Davis

tanita s. davis is a writer and avid reader who prefers books to most things in the world, including people. That's ...pretty much it, she's very awkward and she can't even tell jokes. She is, however, the author of eleven books, including Serena Says, Partly Cloudy, Go Figure, Henri Weldon, The Science of Friendship and the Coretta Scott King honored Mare's War. Look for her new MG, book Berry Parker Doesn't Catch Crushes September 2025 from HarperCollins Childrens' Books.

A light in the closet: Narnia

Contrary to columnist Mark Morford’s rather dim view of the Narnia Chronicles, our intrepid writing group determined this week that Narnia still holds a…

One Sarah Dessen deserves another

A. Fortis first described Dessen’s compact and powerful prose, and I took another gamble on this writer with a serious book about a love…

Ursula K. LeGuin called this one "a good read for the dark hours."

I didn’t intend to read it after dark, having a far too active imagination for my own good, but it turns out that didn’t…

A giant girl from an immense state: Lucy from Alaska

Another great one, since the Library of Congress files it under Family Problems, Fishing Boats, Coming of Age, and Alaska. I would hate to…

Who We Are

Wonderland started in 2005 as a collaborative space for our writing group to share news, links, book recommendations, and thoughts on writing for young adults.

Through various iterations, we've still held to our core vision, finding Wonderland, and sharing our discoveries.

We blog to hear ourselves think, in a crowded field, and a busy social-media laden world. We blog to create a corner of community, and hope you feel welcome here.

Click the links to discover more about what makes us who we are and about what we do. You can also visit Tanita on her official author site, and aquafortis on her official author site.

NB: as per the FTC Guidelines for blogging and endorsements, Finding Wonderland hereby states that unless otherwise stated (such as, if we get it from the library or buy it ourselves), readers should assume that every book reviewed on our site is provided to the reviewers by the publisher or the author free of charge or obligation. Please click here for our book review policy.
