TURNING PAGES: MECHANICA, by Betsy Cornwell

Every fairytale is putty in the hands of a writer, being reshaped and stretched to his or her own desires. This imaginative Cinderella retelling…

TURNING PAGES: REBEL MECHANICS by SHAUNNA SWENDSON

Normally I’d gush about this being a great summer read to tuck into your bag for the beach, but I kind of hate the…

TURNING PAGES: THE JUMBIES by TRACEY BAPTISTE

This book is one off-the-beaten-track for me. It’s definitely a MG chapter book, and skews quite a bit younger than the books we usually…

TURNING PAGES: THE MEMORY CHAIR by SUSAN WHITE

After I sighed enviously through Susan White’s Ten Thousand Truths and longed to live on a magical farm like that (despite the fact that…

TURNING PAGES: JACOBS’S LANDING, by DAPHNE GREER

I love fish-out-of-water novels so much. Junior high seems to be the perfect age to experience new things and retain the adventure of the…

TURNING PAGES: INK AND ASHES by VALYNNE E. MAETANI

This book is either a primer on how to find out stuff your parents are keeping from you, or a primer on how to…

TURNING PAGES: CASTLE HANGNAIL by URSULA VERNON

So, when Sir Terry Pratchett died in March, and we descended into the fifty year mourning period, there was the tiniest, infinitesimal twinkle of…

TURNING PAGES: GATEWAY by SHARON SHINN

So, May is Asian Pacific Heritage Month, right? And I’m loving (unintentionally) digging out all of these books which feature Asian characters in unpredictable…

TURNING PAGES: UNDER A PAINTED SKY by STACEY LEE

I’d wanted to read this book for a long time because in my head I’d heard it was historical and was a story about…

TURNING PAGES: KUNG FU KITTY, LAYING DOWN THE LAW, by LAURI BORTZ

Honestly? I did not see this one coming. Some of us in the kidlitosphere who have grown up in a faith have frequently bemoaned…

Who We Are

Wonderland started in 2005 as a collaborative space for our writing group to share news, links, book recommendations, and thoughts on writing for young adults.

Through various iterations, we've still held to our core vision, finding Wonderland, and sharing our discoveries.

We blog to hear ourselves think, in a crowded field, and a busy social-media laden world. We blog to create a corner of community, and hope you feel welcome here.

Click the links to discover more about what makes us who we are and about what we do. You can also visit Tanita on her official author site, and aquafortis on her official author site.

NB: as per the FTC Guidelines for blogging and endorsements, Finding Wonderland hereby states that unless otherwise stated (such as, if we get it from the library or buy it ourselves), readers should assume that every book reviewed on our site is provided to the reviewers by the publisher or the author free of charge or obligation. Please click here for our book review policy.
