Ursula K. LeGuin called this one "a good read for the dark hours."

I didn’t intend to read it after dark, having a far too active imagination for my own good, but it turns out that didn’t…

A giant girl from an immense state: Lucy from Alaska

Another great one, since the Library of Congress files it under Family Problems, Fishing Boats, Coming of Age, and Alaska. I would hate to…

'Many' Pages Later…

Periodically, I read “boy books” just to make sure my game’s still good. I can’t even doodle boys when I draw characters, so I…

V's R Us

Once again, I just cannot say enough good things about cover art! When it’s good, it’s really worth the occasional shout-out. I’m quite liking…

Talking To Yourself

At first I was put off by the second-person narrative style of Chris Lynch’s Freewill. It took me several pages to get accustomed to…

The Agony & the Eclipse: Books About Grief Taking Over

When I go to writer’s conferences, I hear a lot about how much writers should be discussing certain issues – death, grief, etc., I’m…

Clueless Characters: Why aren't these people THINKING!?

Time for a slightly cranky rant: Maybe it’s just hitting me wrong today, maybe, but I cannot bear to read one more cluess character…

Who We Are

Wonderland started in 2005 as a collaborative space for our writing group to share news, links, book recommendations, and thoughts on writing for young adults.

Through various iterations, we've still held to our core vision, finding Wonderland, and sharing our discoveries.

We blog to hear ourselves think, in a crowded field, and a busy social-media laden world. We blog to create a corner of community, and hope you feel welcome here.

Click the links to discover more about what makes us who we are and about what we do. You can also visit Tanita on her official author site, and aquafortis on her official author site.

NB: as per the FTC Guidelines for blogging and endorsements, Finding Wonderland hereby states that unless otherwise stated (such as, if we get it from the library or buy it ourselves), readers should assume that every book reviewed on our site is provided to the reviewers by the publisher or the author free of charge or obligation. Please click here for our book review policy.
