IMPATIENT

Yeah, yeah, yeah. It’s supposed to be Waiting on Wednesday, and it’s only Tuesday, but you know what? I DON’T CARE.

Mockingjay is being released on the 24th of this very month. But is that today? Why, no, it is not.

Monster Blood Tattoo 3, Factorum, is coming out soon. But not today.

I Shall Wear Midnight, the third book in the Tiffany Aching story is out September 2. Which isn’t today.

Blameless, the third novel in Gail Carringer’s Parasol Protectorate series, is out September 1, and the next book after that is out the following July. I may die before then. I will at least have to reread the entire series. Again.

Why don’t publishers just give me all the books I want, right now!??!

::sigh::

Okay, entertain me. For what are you impatient?

About the author

tanita s. davis is a writer and avid reader who prefers books to most things in the world, including people. That's ...pretty much it, she's very awkward and she can't even tell jokes. She is, however, the author of eleven books, including Serena Says, Partly Cloudy, Go Figure, Henri Weldon, The Science of Friendship and the Coretta Scott King honored Mare's War. Look for her new MG, book Berry Parker Doesn't Catch Crushes September 2025 from HarperCollins Childrens' Books.

Comments

  1. Mockingjay. Though I refused to get sucked into any of the prerelease buzz.

I just want the book. Plus all of that would make my expectations for Mockingjay sky high. And they are high enough already.

The Broken Kingdoms by NK Jemisin
comes out Nov. 3, can't wait to read it.

  2. I just ordered Blameless from Powells – I'm not sure if their site is lying or not but it shows as being on the shelf right now. (It's not embargoed, so maybe they have it?) Amazon shows it as due Aug 31st.

    I just want it. NOW.

  3. Okay, NOW I'm impatient for I Shall Wear Midnight. Thank you for blogging it. I am no longer impatient for Mockingjay, as it's now a week later, and I've read it. Now, I'm impatient to read what you two have to write about it. How's that?

Oh yeah, and I'm looking forward to Kristin Cashore's Bitterblue, but I don't want her to hurry that at all. (Pullman took his time with The Amber Spyglass, and after reading it, I wish he had taken even more time with it.)

  4. Monsters of Men! Also Mockingjay, but I've got enough patience to wait for a library copy (I'm high on the holds list). And the 3rd Skin Hunger, but I like to wait until there's a publication date to get really antsy.
