Toon Thursday: And the Plagiarism Continues…

* Big Old Asterisk: All credit for quotes (which, please note, are slightly mangled for the sake of humor) goes to Paul Tolme in his hilarious Newsweek commentary detailing exactly what it’s like to have a romance writer “borrow” one’s…factual essay on black-footed ferrets of North America.
Seriously, if you haven’t read his article yet, go do it now…the cartoon will make a lot more sense if you look at the picture of the book jacket…

About the author

Sarah Jamila Stevenson is a writer, artist, editor, graphic designer, proofreader, and localization QA tester, so she wears a teetering pile of hats. On any given day, she is very tired. She is the author of the middle grade graphic novel Alexis vs. Summer Vacation, and three YA novels, including the award-winning The Latte Rebellion.

  1. *rolling, laughing*

The really great thing is the follow-up — some great things are happening for ferrets, even without us knowing the bosom-heaving details of their romantic lives. A win-win. Great toon!

  2. This was a fun one to do…and I HAD to do it. There was no question about that. 😉

I only wish I’d had more time yesterday–it doesn’t quite live up to my mental vision. Due to time constraints I had to settle for some slipshod computer-applied color. (Paint bucket, the friend of the lazy…) Oh, well. Glad you guys liked it! I definitely amused myself.

  3. That ferret stuff is some racy pillow talk, n’est-ce pas? The story was so funny, it was worth wading through all the annoying pop-ups and video clips on the Newsweek site.

    Toon Thursday is a-smoldering.
