That’s so sad. A friend’s mom had early Alzheimer’s, too.
Makes me want to cry, truly. Not just that it’s a fear of mine – to have my mind leave me – but because he’s such a fabulous writer. Yes, it’s selfish, but … it’s also that he’s such a fabulous person, and I only know him through his writing.
Devastating.
I’ve read everything I could find of his, several times over. I can’t imagine him not being there, writing such fabulous things.
It’s like losing Madeline L’Engle or something, really.
What horribly sad news. And he’s taking it so stoically. I’m…floored.
I’m frustrated by this news, too. It seems that there must be a cure right around the corner… there must. This is a disease that robs a person of his or her personality. It’s cruel, and I don’t accept it.
