I admit that posthumous publishing always does my head in. I’m not sure if I think it’s a scam or a brilliant invention. How would I feel about all of the unpublished and unfinished stories on my hard drive being brought into the public eye? All those jotted notes on drifts of paper, cobbled together to make something… that maybe I didn’t intend. What about you? Does this feel like a … bit of cobbled-together nonsense, or a final gift from a friend? Are you excited, or apprehensive? Do you think you’ll read it? Is it a library borrow, or a bookstore buy? I will read it. I think it helps me be hopeful that it's by her little sister, whose young mind was shaped by DWJ's voice… I think I might ask for the UK cover, though…
I do feel weird about the idea of posthumously published books…I still haven't yet read A Monster Calls, the one by Siobhan Dowd finished by Patrick Ness, even though I think Ness was a great choice. I probably will get to both that one and this one in time, though.
